Little Kahuna - Lost Oasis CD-EP (Surf Jam Music) 

Little Kahuna, the So Cal band led by guitarist and primary songwriter Craig Skelly, is back with a great 8-song CD that is filled with wonderful vintage Fender guitar work. The music is always melodic, with intricate lead guitar work throughout backed by smooth rhythm guitar, bass and drums. Speaking of drums, Jeff Utterback should be a familiar name, as he’s played with Insect Surfers and Huntington Cads in the past and his work is stellar on this disc. Of course, this wouldn’t be a Little Kahuna release without sailing through a variety of genres - while there’s definitely an exotica influence, you’ll hear vintage surf on tracks like “Salt Air”, spaghetti-western with “Lonesome Trail”, modern-surf with “Necklace Guy” and jazzy-lounge with “Puka Shells” with some added sexy sax work.
