Little Kahuna - Little Kahuna CD (Surf Jam)

This self-titled CD is the debut from guitarist and primary songwriter Craig Skelly. Recorded during the pandemic, he was able to get the songs laid down in the studio while social distancing. A process made easier with instrumental tunes I imagine! The songs have a great traditional surf sound, with clean production and great guitar tone throughout. This disc really shines through it’s songwriting - the songs are simple, melodic and catchy. You could describe this disc as “beach surf” - it just sounds like the kind of surf music perfectly suited to listening to on the beach, with that “Endless Summer” vibe throughout. There are a couple of fun deviations towards the end of the disc - “Bossa Du Sol” has a great bossanova vibe, and the closing song “DD” is a tribute to you-know-who.
