It's the debut release from Thee Leviathans, an Indianapolis, IN based surf/instrumental rock n' roll combo featuring Patrick O'Connor of The Madeira on lead guitar. Powerfully melodic and cinematic instrumental music has long been the cornerstone of guitarist O’Connor’s reputation in the surf music community, an approach built on high-energy performances and high-melody compositions. Now with his new combo, Thee Leviathans appear without warning, strike hard, then fade back into the night. With support from longtime collaborators Savannah O'Connor (keys), Ed Cho (rhythm guitar), Aric Harris (bass) and Steven Hinckley (drums), Thee Leviathans combine reverb-heavy guitar tones with alternately vibrant and ominous layers of keys, held together by impactful rhythms. Thee Leviathans are mysterious, playful and musically adventurous, supplying both the immersive atmospherics and melodic heft for which the instrumental surf genre has come to be known.
