The Road Runners - Rampage CD (Raksun Talli)

Fun, energetic and twangy instrumental rock from Finland based combo who made their debut with this CD release just over 10 years ago. They have a lead guitar sound that is similar to other fabulous instro rock bands from Scandinavia, but they have a great energy that sets them apart from the rest. I can sense a strong traditional California surf sound in these songs. Most of them are covers, but other than “Hot Line”, “Rocket Man (aka Cossack Patrol), “Rise N’ Fall Of Flingel Bunt”, “Swan Lake” and “Johnny Guitar” they’ve chosen some pretty obscure tunes here. Highly recommended for fans of Laika & The Cosmonauts and The Lunatics.
