Surfer Joe / Frankie & The Pool Boys - Billie Jean / Beat It CD-Single (Surfer Joe / Ferocious Doberman) 

On a lark, two surf bands from opposite sides of the globe have joined up to release this fun 2 song CD single covering two of Michael Jackson’s biggest hits. Surfer Joe, from Italy, covers “Billie Jean” in a way that’s pretty faithful to the original, but with guitar playing the vocal melody and adding nice twangy, reverbed guitars. The other song is from California’s Frankie & The Pool Boys, who take on “Beat It” with guitarist Ferenc Dobronyi playing the vocal melodies on lead guitar. My favorite part is the lead up and delivery on the instrumental break, including Ferenc’s noble and fun rendition of the original Eddie Van Halen solo. Note: This is a CD-R, but has a professionally printed CD jacket and professional printing on the CD surface.
