The disc gets off to a fun start with an intro to the CD that emulates a movie trailer from a 60’s teen b-movie, before getting down to the business of delivering to your ears a dozen twangy, reverby surf instros rooted in the trad sound of the California coast. Heck, it’s even got artwork by the legendary Darren Merinuk! You’ll be blown away by the 9 originals, all classics. Like many surf records, this one has a few covers and they’ve chosen some good ones - Billy Idol’s “White Wedding” is covered here, and when you hear it done surf style you’ll go “sh*t - this has ALWAYS BEEN a surf tune!” - especially the intro. There’s also great versions of “Monster Surfing Time” and “The Cruel Sea”.
