The Fuzziyama Surfers - Wild Echizen LP (White/Red Vinyl) (Otitis Media) 

This is the debut full-length release by this Japanese four-piece surf band, following a song called “Fuzziyama Beat” that was on a comp LP from Portugal’s Groovie Records. You’ll find that song on this new LP, as well as eleven other stormin’ surf instros. The band has a pretty traditional surf rock sound, comin’ at ya with a classic lineup of two guitars, bass and drums. It's just great traditional surf - original songs that sound like they could have been written and recorded in the early 60’s but were actually recorded in the last year or two. What they also have is that “fun factor” - this is the kind of surf you listen to with a smile on your face and a wiggle in your toes. Great cover art as well - it’s inspired partly by the classic Del-Fi covers, as well as the famous woodblock print “The Great Wave off Kanagawa”.
