Terreur Twist - The Surfer Of The Beast CD-EP (Sharawaji / Surf Cookie) 

This release is an epic, multi-label collaboration that shows this French band continuing their quest to meld modern surf with metal. While the cover art for this release leads one to believe that they might be veering closer to metal with the sound on this 5-song disc, it’s actually not the case. The songs on here are hard-driving’ fast and energetic modern surf instrumentals with a small metal influence. Returning to the word “epic” - it’s really summed up by the first and last tracks. The opener is “L'invocation” which clocks in at over 11 minutes and really takes you on a sonic journey, while the closer is the legendary Iron Maiden song “Phantom Of The Opera”.
