Man Or Astro-Man? - Space 1991 7" (Chunklet)
They’re back - everyone’s favorite surf rockers from outer space have returned to action with a 3 track 7” EP, available digitally but also pressed on beautiful colored vinyl and housed as always in cool, retro-sci-fi themed sleeve with rockets and 60’s typography. The first song is classic Man Or Astro-man? - driving, crunchy guitars, great lead guitar work from Starcrunch and quirky, bouncy guitar/keyboard sounds. It harkens back to their post-Estrus work ala Experiment Zero, or even their “comeback” album Defcon 5...4...3...2...1... The same could be said of the second track, “Tenth Planet”, which is the sole vocal track on the EP. This track really shows off what makes this band so unique - you just can’t place a song like this within any genre. It’s not surf, it’s not punk, or garage or alternative rock - it’s just Man Or Astro-Man? The final track, “Memory Machine”, is a short sound collage that is a return to their rare A Spectrum Of Finite Scale days. Pressed on "space junk" colored vinyl.
