Frankie & The Pool Boys - Endless Drummer Vinyl LP (Ferocious Doberman/Double Crown) (Splatter Purple & Black Vinyl)

California’s favorite surf and instro rock band is back with a concept album of sorts. Endless Drummer contains tracks featuring a different drummer on nearly every track, with some of the most talented surf drummers in the world contributing their talents. Yes, twelve different drummers!  Just look at who’s featured... Dusty Watson (The Sonics, Slacktone), Lorenzo Valdambrini (Surfer Joe), Enrico Ragni (Bradipos 4), Gracie Malley (Greasy Gills), Naotaka Seki (Surf Coasters), Pieter Dedoncker (Los Venturas, Surfer Joe), Martyn Jones (The Mermen), Eric Ruel (Drifting Sand, Pool Boys), Tony Bald (The TomorrowMen, Combo Tezeta), Pablo Baza (Tikiyaki Orchestra), and Jonathan Rodriguez (The Deadbeats, Combo Tezeta). Whew! Added to the usual Pool Boys band (Ferenc Dobronyi, Jono Jones, Jeff Turner and Karen Dobronyi) are some special guests. On bass – Shane Van Dyke (The Bomboras), the ubiquitous JonPaul Balak (Insect Surfers), Sam Benedetti (Greasy Gills) and Teté Orta (Strings Aflame).  On sax is Bryan Manzo (Jupe Jupe, Boss Martians), and Jim Bacchi played the vibes (Tikiyaki Orchestra). There are 12 new original songs and a classic cover song that touch on the many styles of 60’s and 70’s instrumental music that have inspired me my entire life – surf, soul, eleki, psych, spaghetti western, exotica, with a little dub, new wave, rock and roll in the mix. Ferenc pushed himself to write the freshest material he could, searching out the perfect drummer for each song.
