Deke Dickerson & The Whippersnappers - Honky Tonkin' Rhythm Vinyl LP (Major Label) 

It's the 2023 full length release by famed guitarist/vocalist/songwriter/music historian Deke Dickerson and his backing band The Whippersnappers. The songs are a mixture of rockabilly, vintage country, rock 'n' roll and instrumentals, all with a unifying element of twangy guitar.  The album was recorded from start to finish by Deke Dickerson at his vintage-style analog studio, and with the exception of a few guest overdubs (steel guitar and fiddle on a few songs), was all recorded live by the group, the way records used to be made.  Deke blends the sound of the 50’s without resorting to any gimmicks, with songs that show emotions such as yearning and euphoria, while others display his now trademark sense of humor. The album pops with energy, from the lead-off track "Bucket of Blood" to the Western movie theme "High Noon" to the barn burning autobiographical song, "Great Big Cowboy”. This album is the complete package - not only is the music absolute top notch, begging to be listened to over and over again, but the cover art featuring the band on a high bluff above the Southwestern desert is equally amazing.
