White Sands - White Sands Vinyl EP (No-Mad-Eel Records)

Hailing from Albuquerque, New Mexico, this surf trio has been inspired by the greats as their previous digital-only releases have seen them cover The Astronauts, Satan’s Pilgrims, and Link Wray among a few original songs. This new vinyl EP sees them focus on originals, taking “The Black Cat Is Deathless” and “Vampire Drug Party”, and adding four other originals. It’s all great stuff - “Cult Of The Crab King” is a standout, a groovy, atmospheric tune that features some great twangy guitar front and center. “Vampire Drug Party”, is excellent as well. The final track, “Bamboo Forrest” is a great exotica tune with superb guitar and percussion work.
