The Fathoms - Fathomless CD (2017 Reissue + Bonus Tracks) (MuSick) 

All of the tracks on this disc are great, but the lead-off tune on here is simply amazing. It was written by The Fathoms, yet sounds just like an outtake from The Astronauts Surfin' With... LP. Sixteen of the seventeen tracks on here are originals, each of which has been drenched with layer upon layer of reverb. This was one one of the top three surf albums of 1996. 7 bonus tracks are added to the original 17 tracks, so there are 24 SONGS on this CD. Happily the bonus songs aren’t throwaways - they are all pretty awesome. “Frantic Antic” was recorded in 1996, but didn’t make the album for reasons unexplained in the liner notes. Two additional tunes, “Koolerator” and “Big Sky”, were recorded in 1998. Then the final four songs were recorded in 2017 and released for the first time on this disc with a completely different lineup, other than lead guitarist/songwriter/leader Frankie Blandino. If you don’t have this album already, you must drop what you’re doing and get it right away. Even if you already have the original disc, it’s worth it for the 7 bonus tracks.
