The Tourmaliners - Surfin' Christmas Carols LP (Altered State Of Reverb) 

This is an excellent, and diverse, set of Christmas/holiday classics done in a variety of styles. While most of the songs fall into the surf category, some songs emulate the Ventures style of the 60’s, while others have a driving, modern sound of the last decade or so. My favorite has to be their blend of “Endless Summer” and “O Come All Ye Faithful” - they work so well together! They do it again with “O Holy Night”, which borrows a lot from the classic “Sleepwalk”. They’ve made the decision to stick with the classics here - you’ve likely heard all these songs done on other surf/holiday releases. However, the quality of the recording, the performances and arrangements, and the creativity makes this a true stand-out and a must-buy for the holiday season!
