The Cholla is a new surf/instro rock band featuring the talented Yannick Peings of Blackball Bandits on guitars, keyboards and programming, joined through the power of the internet by Fabien Contaut on bass in France. The Cholla is an outlet to take the surf sound to further extremes than with Blackball Bandits, so you’ll hear a bit more distortion, fuzz and effects on the guitars, and more of a garage (and occasionally metal) sound, yet half of the songs wouldn’t really sound out of place on a Blackball Bandits album. If you enjoy Daikaiju, Aloha Screwdriver or Arno de Cea & The Clockwork Wizards you’ll love this disc!
