Los Reverb - Surf The Waves Of Music With... CD (Surf Cookie)
Well this band didn’t mess around with naming themselves - “The Reverb” is one of the surfiest names you can come up with for a surf band. Having said that, they don’t always use a ton of reverb on the guitars - in fact, it’s not really until the fourth song, “Agente Anthony 420”, that the band turns up the reverb tanks to maximum capacity. That continues with the next song, “Mia Wallace”, and continues throughout the rest of the disc. This Uruguayan four-piece delivers their sound thru guitars, bass, drums and sax, with occasional piano/keyboards, lap steel and sitar as well. The songs meld traditional surf, with a little bit of modern surf and traditional South American sounds. Over the last few years the band has released several albums and EPs digitally - this CD combines nearly all of the songs from those previous releases onto one single, shiny platter, and comes with artwork unique to this release.
