New Continental Magazine Coming This Month

Issue #17 includes huge feature interviews with The Kilaueas and The Dynotones, a gear report from The Surfites, a show report from this year’s Deke Dickerson Guitar Geek Festival featuring the legendary Duane Eddy, and the return of Man Or Astro-man?, plus tons of music and DVD reviews. Deke’s Guitar Geek Festival Next Weekend

Sadly I’m stuck in Bellingham, WA and can’t make it down for this, but if you’re in California, or can get there next weekend, you absolutely must attend Deke Dickerson’s 7th Annual Guitar Geek Festival. I saw his mini-Geek Fest at Viva Las Vegas last year and it was definitely one of the highlights of the weekend, and one of the most entertaining shows I’ve ever seen. Deke Dickerson Does Soundtrack For “Wild & Wonderful Whites Of West Virginia”

Deke Dickerson recorded the music for the upcoming Johnny Knoxville film “The Wild and Wonderful Whites of West
Virginia”, which just debuted on June 27th. I haven’t heard the music yet, but chances are it’s a mix of his patented style of hillbilly, rockabilly, swing, western and surf rock.

I’m Off To Vegas Next Week For Viva Las Vegas 2009!

Just a week from today I will be escaping the chilly NW (there was frickin’ snow this morning on my way into work!) and flying into sunny Las Vegas for the 2009 Viva Las Vegas festival.
