    Heretic Channel is the latest release by Russian surf combo Messer Chups, and it’s their best yet! They continue with their unique sound that blends surf beats, twangy guitar and theremin, and have added vocals on a few cuts (four of them, although calling them vocals is a tad misleading since it’s more like creepy, monotone dialogue) and to please the die-hards, a couple of often covered classics, “Crash” and “Munsters Theme”.     Mister Neutron starts this disc off in a big way, with the song "Comanchero" featuring the three-piece band along with guests playing percussion, trumpet, and acoustic 6- and 12-string guitars. Later they perform covers of "The Wedge" and "Casbah" (Los Straitjackets version) and they're done well, This is a good, solid and enjoyable release that shows off some great songwriting skill.
