Thank you for supporting Double Crown Records and The Continental Magazine this year. As you all know, time’s aren’t the greatest in the music biz, but because of all of you, we’ve made it through another year in good shape and are excited to welcome in the new year with the promise of lots of great new surf and instrumental rock releases.

Also, we really appreciate the support we received through the Kickstarter campaign we ran to help support our Brave New Surf CD release. The funds received will allow us to promote the CD, the bands on the CD, and surf music as a whole through extensive advertising and promo work.

Double Crown will be closed for the next few days (we’ll answer email though), but we’ll be going again next week ready to fill orders and continue work on our next couple of releases (the new Continental Magazine and the new full-length CD by The Madeira).

Brave New Surf Fundraising Campaign At Kickstarter

There are just a few days left in our Kickstarter campaign. We’ve passed our initial goal, and will have funds to cover promotional and advertising expenses. Any additional funds raised from this point on will go towards making more CD’s. It looks like we’ll go through the first thousand pretty quickly, but it’ll cost $1500 or so to make another thousand discs.

There are lots of great bonus items available at different donation levels. Any size donation helps though. Help us spread the word about surf music!

Congrats To Norton Records On 25 Years In The Biz!

One of our favorite labels, Norton Records, is celebrating their 25th anniversary with a huge blow-out in NYC. When I first started Double Crown Records back in 1996, Norton was one of the first labels I got into when discovering surf and vintage rock n’ roll. Those early Phantom Surfers and Untamed Youth LP’s were played non-stop as I transitioned from grunge to surf rock, and I soon fell in with a group of people that appreciated the sound that Norton was delivering.

Sadly, I won’t be in New York for the big fest, but will be glued to the blogosphere for reports, and hopefully some YouTube videos will show up as well. We have a couple of trusty reporters on the scene, Benny of The Beechwoods and Gerhard of The Krontjong Devils, who will submit a feature for the upcoming issue of The Continental Magazine.
