Here is undeniable evidence that the surf genre is not only still alive but thriving. The past four years have been extraordinarily fruitful in both the number and the quality of new releases. The best of these new tracks – many compiled for you here – can stand toe to toe with the very best of the 1960s.

The songs on this CD testify to a love affair between the musicians and their music. Surf musicians are not in this for the money – almost all have to keep their day jobs – but, rather, because of a deep passion for the music. For them, life is much more satisfying if some part of it is spent playing in a surf band. This passion is shared by an increasingly international community, reaching almost every corner of the world. The bands on this compilation come not only from North America, but also South America and Europe, these two continents emerging in the past decade as real hotbeds of surf music activity.

Surf music has never been so vibrant, so diverse, so charged with energy and excitement. It’s time for the new surf classics. It’s time for BRAVE NEW SURF!

What started as just listening to bands such as Ventures, Dick Dale & The DelTones, Slacktone, Man or Astroman?, and watching The Bambi Molesters performing live, ended up with forming a band that gives its vision of what surf rock should sound today.

“Adriatica” is their debut full-length CD release, packed with 12 blistering surf rock instros, some with a slight punk/indie rock influence. There are 11 originals, plus a cover of Man Or Astroman’s “Interstellar Hardrive”. They beat out 400 bands in the Balkan region, receiving a recording contract and have since appeared at summer music festivals in front of huge crowds, and were recently featured on MTV. This is a band definitely on the rise, and this CD gives the rest of the world a chance to hear this band’s amazing, energetic surf rock sound.

The songs are powerful, melodic and sure to stick in your head for years to come.

What makes the The TomorrowMen stand apart from the majority of surf bands playing today is their priority on creating memorable melodies and presenting them in very inventive arrangements. When placed in the midst of a really strong rhythm section such as they have here, you end up with a recipe for some of the best surf music you’ll ever hear.
