Hallmark Wing-Bat Guitar

30 March 2010 4 Comments

Many of my guitar faves, such as Ralf Kilauea, Deke Dickerson, and just recently Man Or Astroman? are playing Hallmark guitars. Despite running a surf music label, a genre which highlights the guitar, I am embarrassed to admit that I’m not a guitar geek myself. I have one and can strum a few basic chords, but I picked it out because I liked the look of it more than for it’s sound or playability (it’s a Gretsch Electromatic Hollowbody, in case you’re interested). I have always dug the Hallmark line of guitars though, ever since Ralf debuted his on the Kilaueas 2006 USA tour. I hadn’t poked around the Hallmark website for a while, but I did earlier today – and yowza! This Batmobile inspired guitar is pretty dang cool – it even has red glowing exhaust lights!

Yes, I agree totally! This Wing-Bat is one of THE eyecatchers of the year definitely! I have got the Swept Wing and a white 60 Custom already from Hallmark. Great guitars! If I hadn`t more than 223 guitars already I would buy the Wing-Bat!
But the Wing-Bat has got just one pickup… So I often love to play bridge and neck pickup together for a nice full surf tone. But I guess that this guitar will sound good even with just one pickup!
    Maybe I will buy one?
In a few years people will talk about such guitars and want to have one I bet.
    Twang cheers!

Ah!!! I`ve noticed that I wrote that I have got 223 guitars! That`s a fault!!! I meant 23 guitars for sure!
    Sorry!
    …I couldn`t pay the strings for 223 guitars! :-)

Hey dudes! I just scored a Wing-Bat a couple of weeks ago. It looks, sounds and plays great. I think a lot of folks will get these just to look at, but I’m playing mine! Hallmark is only making 100 of these, so if you’re thinking of one, now’s the time.
