Pete “Buzz” Miller Talks To Rolling Stone Keith Richards
Just stumbled across this old newspaper clipping, where Pete “Buzz” Miller (half of Bonney & Buzz, who have released two CD’s on Double Crown) and Keith Richard(s) of The Rolling Stones, talk shop. It’s a great read – not the kind of thing find very often these days. At this point Keith had only been playing guitar for three years, and offers some great, and not-so-great, advice for people that want to start playing. I agree that it’s good to start with cheap gear, and spend as much time practicing as possible. However, while I understand his position on echo units, I love Pete’s comeback, and to me, in the end, it’s all about the music you create. Skill is a great thing, to a point, but if you can’t put together a decent song using all of that skill, then what’s the point? At the time of this interview the Rolling Stones weren’t much more than a cover band, but that would all change shortly.
