Land Of The Lost TV Show – “Dopey”

dopeyMy family has been working our way through the original Land Of The Lost TV series. I watched it as a kid, and even had a chance to visit the short-lived Sid & Marty Kroft World in Atlanta when it first opened. It’s been cool watching them with my kids, although some of the talk about pylons and time portals goes over their heads. We’ve become fixated on this ridiculously cute Brontosaurus called “Dopey”. It appeared in one of the first episodes, then later when we saw a T-Rex (“Grumpy”) chomping on some meaty dinosaur bones in a later episode we all joked that it was Dopey. Well, we’re somewhere around the 10th episode now, and thankfully, Dopey is still alive! The thing that makes it hilarious, to us, is that every time they show Dopey they play this catchy little tune that’s somewhat reminiscent of the Mancini classic “Baby Elephant Walk”. We catch ourselves occasionally humming the “Dopey Song”. Here’s a clip from YouTube:
