This site from Lauren Orchowski has a cool collection of old playground rocket photos. I remember one of these in a park growing up – just after I went into high school they took it away and converted the park into a more modern, safer kind that you see most often today. I remember lots of kids getting hurt on some of the stuff, even a broken wrist. Now that I have kids I do appreciate the safer playground equipment, but still, I think that the old stuff I used to play in taught common sense and caution.
